Talked to my neighbour
OK, my neighbour is officially crazy. I don't know what the hell is wrong with that guy. I asked if he knew anything about the noises in my phone, and he went ballistic! He started screaming at me and said he had nothing to do with it and that I shouldn't talk about it again. He went into a long tirade, but half of it was in Russian, so I have no idea what he was on about. I don't know what his problem is. Anyway, he seemed genuinely outraged that I even suggested he could be messing with the phone lines, so now I'm not so sure he's the one doing it. Either that, or he's hiding something and is scared of getting caught. I don't know, I've never seen him upset before.
When he was done talking, he virtually pushed me out of his house and then drove off somewhere. That was six hours ago, and I noticed just now that his driveway is still empty.
Oh, and here's a phone update: I can't even call out anymore. So now it's totally useless. I still get a dialtone, but when I call a number it just goes dead. Wheee.

I had similar phenomenon... I dialed a number earlier and it rang unusually long, then I heard a double beep and after ten seconds another beep where when I talked I heard a slight echo of myself... then a busy signal. It only happened for a few certain numbers... much like a broken answering machine.

this is mighty freaky.. I can't believe the strange stuff that's happening to you there..
gah.. it turns out that it WAS a broken answering machine... all the numbers were in one small company and were redirected to the same machine... heh
hmmm, do you think your neighbour reads the blog? just, you know, the net is small;
and if I were you I would probably talk to him about it again (his first non-reacting and going white is suspicious and I doubt he'd do so if he just didn't know what you are talking about)
btw I really really miss nerd-boy :(
I would talk to him if I could find him. I haven't seen him since he drove off.
And could everyone please stop nagging me about Nerd Boy, can't you see I have other stuff to worry about? Although I don't really feel like I'm coming any closer to finding out what these strange "events" (or whatever I should call them) mean. And they've stopped happening, so I don't have any new clues.
